  Even for someone who has seen a lot of Zoos, Selwo Aventura is likely to come across as a pleasant surprise. As mentioned in one if the other reviews, the experience would get positively amplified if you are visiting the park with kids.

  The park was beautifully maintained and the staff appeared well trained and committed to what they were doing. Kudos to Selwo for doing such a great job.

  We went to pay for the tickets, about €50 for 2 adults and 2 kids under 3. We didn't find this as being an issue either...

  Caught a bite at the restaurant at the top (food is not bad at all) and went for the Safari Serengeti. Lovely bi-lingual and knowledgeable guide took us visiting rhinos, hippos, zebras, giraffes, hippos and various antelopes. Got the kids excited further by allowing them to feed the zebras. A quick 30 minute tour. And No, the lions aren't part of the safari.

  I had 2 kids, aged 7 and 2 with me. Was prepared for the worst given what I read about steep climbs and long walks. Fortunately, it wasn't bad at all. And the excitement began right at the entrance as the kids spotted a peacock. Past the meerkats, the rope bridge, the lemurs, the elephants, giraffes and onto the lions at the end, it was a very swift one and half hour.

  It’s fantastic! It’s like you are in the jungle or in real safari in Africa (which you can see sometimes on the other side of the sea because the view is breathtaking)..! Whenever I go to Spain I want to go there too..! You shouldn’t miss it! One thing.. if you’re not with a car, be prepared to walk for about 1km of a bit uphill way to get there.. or there might be a taxi down at the beginning of it, ready to take you up there. Just tell him not to get into the parking cause I think he‘s charging extra.. I believe there should be a bus though starting from a central point (Estepona), going right at the door of the zoo cause it’s so tiring and exhausting during the summer especially, getting there.. you get rewarded arriving there though..! One last thing.. it should close a little bit later, in my opinion.. because during the summer, having walked 1km uphill to get there, you just need some rest before you get in and see around.. you just need more time and it’s large.

  On the way back to the exit, we discovered more enclosures which we had missed on our way up. And most of them allowed us to walk through - the maras, pygmy goats, flamingos, hyenas, various birds... Though there were demonstrations and interactions as per a fixed schedule we didn't do any.

  Though the park itself was well-thought-out, I was shocked to see people touching and chasing the animals without supervision and scaring some witless. The flamingos had half of one wing clipped instead of only the flight feathers. There are better ways to keep your animals from leaving.

  A deffinet must go if your ever in the area. Scenery alone is out of this world. You will deffinetly need trainers for this.

  5/5 stars because I love the place.. ❤️ but there are a couple of things that could make it an immaculate experience..!
